TÜV Product Service is first to offer testing to new EMC Mil standard
In response to UK Defence industry’s need to qualify its products to the latest American military standards, TÜV Product Service has become the first UK laboratory to add Mil Std 461F to its scope of accredited EMC tests. The service is available now from TÜV Product Service’s state of the art test laboratory based in Fareham, Hampshire.
TÜV Product Service was able to achieve this quick turnaround time because of its flexible UKAS testing schedule and its early involvement in all new EMC standards, especially for the Defence and Aerospace industries. Following Mil Std 461F’s release in December 2007, a comprehensive gap analysis was conducted between Mil Std 461E and the new F version. As an outcome of this, TÜV Product Service developed a test method to extend the frequency of the Bulk Current Injection test down to 4kHz as well as a method for producing a spike which is compliant with the requirements of CS106. All requirements of ISO 17025 were also addressed.
UK companies can now use a local laboratory to qualify their products to the latest US specifications and benefit from extremely competitive pricing, a wealth of experience and the quickest report delivery times in the industry.
