West Midlands EMC testing facility becomes authorised CB Testing Laboratory

TÜV Product Service’s EMC testing laboratory at Bearley, near Stratford-upon-Avon, has become an IECEE accredited CB Testing Laboratory after an intensive audit and peer assessment programme by members of the CB scheme. The Bearley facility in the West Midlands is TÜV Product Service’s second UK laboratory to achieve this distinction, enabling it to issue CB certificates, which are now recognised in more than 45 countries worldwide.

The CB scheme is based on the principle of IECEE members’ mutual recognition of
electrical safety and EMC test results and is the world’s first truly international system
for obtaining product approval and certification. The CB scheme is currently used by
over 15,000 manufacturers and its popularity is demonstrated by the fact that the
number of certificates issued has risen year-on-year. Over 50,000 certificates were

TÜV Product Service’s approval means CB product testing can either be undertaken
in their laboratories or at manufacturers’ own premises under the supervision of CBTL personnel.
